Having had a long career in the folk industry and skirted on the fringes of fame, Des Horsfall is a musician well known in folk circles. As a dedicated student of the musical game, he has supported tours for many household names and built his own cult following along the way.
His respect for the musicians of previous eras led him to what has perhaps become his greatest inspiration – The Small Faces’ Ronnie Lane. Having found fame with the Small Faces and later The Faces, Lane later moved onto a different project called Slim Chance. It is here that Horsfall found his inspiration, and set out to continue that style with a three album run of his own.
The second of those three albums, ‘The Bastard’s Tin’, is out early next year. And taken from it is this single ‘Chameleon’. The single is a collaboration with Pete Townshend, himself a Ronnie Lane fan who was very keen to be involved on the album project. Their pairing ended up with this beautiful folk track, out Forday 11th December.
